This is a custom piece that allows for full tooth engagement between gear slider to gear for 1st, 3rd and 5th. Gears only engage approximately 50-70% as O.E. DCR 1st, 3rd and 5th Gear Extender allows for 90-100% gear engagement. When building your manual transmission do not skip doing this. This product is a perfect compliment to the DCR Billet Shift Selector/ 2nd and 4th Gear Extender. These are not band aid fixes as they are necessary to complete full gear engagement to avoid gear/synchro damage. We use these in all of the DCR SRT4 Neon transmissions! The factory specific parts only do 50-70% gear engagement which is the leading cause of gear/synchro failure and bent shift forks.
