The LibertyDollar is as beautiful and valuable as the ideals it represents. Ornately designed with silver foil on high-quality paper, portraysthe true meaning of America.
Microscopically printed inthe borders of the notes are the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the U.S.Constitution. Each denomination is uniquely colored. Each note has a hologramin the lower left and a special DNA code is impregnated into the bills to workharmoniously to protect against counterfeiting.
On 15 November 2007 the FBI closed the American Libertyoffice in Coeur d' Alene, Idahoto prevent people mistaking LibertyDollars for legal tender. The Liberty Dollarorganization
    was
accused of illegally passing the notes as a legalalternative to the United States currency even though the bills were
    not
    marked "legal tender".
Federal agents seized millions of dollars of private currency declaring thatthe National Organization for Repeal of the Federal Reserve Act , byit's issuance of Liberty Dollars, and the attempted use of Liberty Dollars incommercial transactions, ?they? determined to be in violation of federal law.
The court later said that the ?certificates?were NOT counterfeit due to there lack of any similarity to U.S. Currency.
The sale of American LibertyCertificates by this website is for collectors of rare and unusual currency andcertificates.  Liberty Certificates are NOT intended for useas legal tender.
    *The Liberty Dollar (ALD)
    wa
s a privatecurrency produced in the United States. The currency was embodied in mintedmetal rounds similar to coins, gold and silver certificates and electroniccurrency (eLD). ALD certificates are warehouse receipts for real gold andsilver formerly owned by ALD certificate holders. The metal was warehoused atSunshine Minting in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho prior to a November 2007raid by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Secret Service. UntilJuly 2009, the Liberty Dollar was distributed byLiberty Services (formerly known as NORFED),based in Evansville, Indiana. It was created by Bernard vonNotHaus, the co-founder of the Royal Hawaiian Mint Company. In May 2009, vonNotHaus and others were charged with federal crimes in connection with the Liberty Dollar and, on July 31, 2009, von NotHaus announcedthat he had closed the LibertyDollar operation, pending resolution of the criminal charges. On March 18,2011, von NotHaus was found guilty on two counts, including the making ofcounterfeit
    coins
minted after November 2007.  The certificates were declarednon-counterfeit as they were
    not
    similar to U.S. Currency.
    * * * ALL certificates that were confiscated bythe Government, were destroyed even though they were declared "not-counterfeit".  The few remainingcertificates in private hands are considered highly
    collectible
items andshould continue to increase in value due to scarcity.
