Description
For sale here is a brooch cast in Sterling silver. Its intricate openwork design of stylized leaves and blossoms reflect the curving detailed jewelry of an earlier era, harkening back to the Jugendstihl/Art Nouveau movements of a hundred-plus years ago. The fastener for this brooch is a hinged pin with rollover safety catch.Size: the rectangular brooch measures about 1-1/8 by 1-5/8 inches.
Material: Sterling silver.
Marks: stamped onto the back is: “STAMAS / STERLING”, a mark of Steven L. Stamas.
Age: this piece is estimated to have been made in the 1990s.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
After receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University, he went on to teach as well as exhibit his artwork in the United States, Europe, Argentina, and the Phillipines.
For almost a decade he lived, traveled and studied art in over 50 countries around the world. To Steve, jewelry seemed an ideal way to capture the images of many places and cultures and all this has been translated into his unique collection of fine jewelry with a touch of fantasy and romance added for good measure!
His designs offer a unique array of styles blending traditional elegance and contemporary flair, all very lightweight and wearable!
