Mr. Groody was very aware of the burgeoning Social Awareness and Activist movements of the early 1970s, which is deliberately represented in this piece: the wording on the newsprint is carefully designed to reflect this- if you look carefully, you will see the words "Riots- Knocked- Feudal Barons- Waiters- Whistle- Hospital- Aghast- Dense trees- Pulled- Forced To Lie- VC [Viet Cong] - Che Guevara- Older Generation- Richer- PhD Candidate- Philosophy- Bad Moon- None of Us Could Eat- Black- White- Blindfold- and Upset", to name a few- there is a fascinating treasure trove of progressive activist ideas in this piece of Art
