Gene Hedge (1928-2017) worked in assemblages using found textured paper and other detritus to create moving three-dimensional works that spoke to Abstract Expressionism and the impermanence of the everyday. His work is in many major collections, including the Whitney and was part of the Whitney's Annual Exhibition of Contemporary American Art in 1963. This piece is signed and dated 1953. 19 1/4" x 13 5/8" with frame; image size is 11 1/2" x 5 1/2". This piece has been professionally preserved and is framed with acid-free materials.
