BEST Mourning Reticule, Small Purse, Microbeads, 1832 ID’d G. B. White, Anchor, Mourning Trees and Wreath Leaves, BIN. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
Unusual micro beaded reticule or small drawstring purse dated 1832 with name G.B. White.
I believe it is a mourning purse because it has the name and date and common symbols of weeping trees and wreath leaves used in textiles, particularly mourning samplers. There is also what looks an anchor before the person’s name.  The person may have been a sailor, sea captain or someone who was lost a sea.
The reticule or purse is a very small size and is made of microbeads that are brown, shades of blue, white, maroon, and gold.  I believe the purse may have been knitted.
This is a very fine example and really belongs in a museum collection like the Cooper Hewitt.
